The slave cannot write to the I2CBUF if a transfer is in progress (I2CBUSY = 1). Therefore, the CPU should first check

the status of the I

C busy bit before writing to the I

C buffer. Any attempt to write to the I2CBUF is ignored when

I2CBUSY = 1.
